This morning learned something that has truly shaken me.
My good friend and fellow RPG scribe, Lyn Merical Mosher, has passed away.
The right words fail me, so I’ll just ramble.
Lyn was one of a kind. She oozed class and respect. Lyn always told you how it was and never pulled any punches when it came to putting someone or something right. I loved her writing, her whit, her style and her skill in bringing characters who were larger than life into being. Every one of them I do not doubt was an extension of herself (apart from her character’s rampant alcoholism!). I had long told her to write a book with all her collective RPG stories put together. I guess I’ll never read that book.
I first encountered this brilliantly intelligent woman while I was a member of Tango Fleet. Her brashness and quick whit really brought a breath of fresh air to the simulation. Over the years, as the sims started to close down, I hadn’t spoken to her quite as much as I would have liked. Alas, it is too late to correct that.
Suffice it to say, I am utterly devastated.
My prayers and best wishes go to my friend and Lyn’s Husband, Mark, his family and of course Lyn’s family at this most tragic time.Farewell Lyn. Shields up, phasers locked and loaded. Show em how it’s done up there!
